
As of May 18th, 2026, eligible Washington workers can start applying for WA Cares benefits to fund long-term care needs. When you’re ready to use your benefits, you’ll go through an application process to confirm you meet a contribution requirement and a care needs requirement. Using Benefits: Starting July 1st, you can use benefits to cover services and supports from participating WA Cares providers, for services such as:
- Caregiving
- Home modifications
- Home-delivered meals
- Transportation
